Where to sell my 6.3 other than Ebay?

I'm considering selling my restored 45K mile 300 SEL 6.3.

I've seen the ones on ebay, nice ones for around $50K but they don't seem to be selling... Also contacted Roy Spencer from mercedesheritage.com and he will consign the car for me for a fair price of 5%. He seems to have a large and loyal following. In fact I just bought a 33K mile '91 300SE from him and was thrilled with the car and transaction.

Any suggestions on selling this? I'm not in a rush, so if it takes a while its ok.

There's always Autotraderclassics.com and the M-100.co websites.

If you think it's a car of that caliber, you could try Barrett-Jackson, I suppose.

Yeah, you're right Ike. I think I'll look into the auctions in the Ft Lauderdale area.

Thanks Baybear for the input!

Bring a Trailer has started doing auctions which for the most part appear to be successful. Consider that the client base is pretty knowledgeable, so the comments that come out during the listing can be pretty nit picky.

I would suggest that you look over some of their auctions to see what they're like. I don't know what their fee structure is like, but I recall it being a little steep in my opinion. That being said, you're getting a highly targeted audience, so you won't have any lowballs or tire kickers, either.

The best vintage and classic cars for sale online | Bring a Trailer

I would also suggest that you have a good idea of the value of the car before you start. A lot of people with vintage cars see a big auction sale and start getting excited, only to find that their car may not be quite the same value, ultimately ending in some auction fees for an unsold car.

Good luck with whatever venue you decide to use. Beautiful car.

I think ebay gets the best world-wide exposure, and even if it doesn't sell on ebay people will contact you for off-ebay purchases. I agree about the M100 forum as a good place to advertise. Not so much on mbca as I think the exposure is quite limited. Just my 2 cents
