Is this a little to far gone?

Hi All
I found this 190sl recently for sale and thought it was little far gone for saving. What do you guys think?

John.
I don't see anything there that a deep cleaning and a few bottles of Armour All won't square away.

It looks like it was burned and flung off a building.
It is a dealer selling it, so I suppose he figures it must be worth it to someone. Surely there is so much restoration in it that you would be better off with something else?
Just my 2 pence worth

Where's that car that was pulled up from the deep (under water) after decades? This one looks like it is in slightly better shape. I can't recall what model the other one was, probably an SL I think.

Just the identification of the dealer should be enough to raise questions.

$20k for THIS? I'd rather get punched in the nads for that much. Why would someone think such a beast would be worth so much?

You'd better have a great fabricator on staff. And by fabrication I mean the entire car. It looks like some fire, some weather. A little forgotten about under a dung hill too.

If it was a 300SL maybe

I don't think it is worth 20k for the valve cover and the headlight rings, which look like the only salvageable parts. It looks like it was rolled, burned, and sat in a junkyard for 40 years.

I don't think even Christine could come back from that...

Here is one that looks decent for much less than it would take to restore that one.

Is this the one you're referring to Mike?

At a Pagoda restoration facility we visited in Germany.
