From the 220 SE Coupe/Cabriolet Owners Manual:

are accessible from inside the luggage compart-
ment. To remove the housing detach wire plug
and unscrew the four knurled nuts.

2 tail light (4 Watt)
3 clearance light (4 watt)
4 back-up light (15 Watt)
5 direction sighal light (18 watt)
The license plate light consists of two glow
bulbs (4 Watts each) in one housing which is
screwed to the bumper top. Afte removing
2 oval head screws the housing can be taken
off for easy access to the glow bulbs.
Replacing a bulb
Removing: push in bulb, turn counter-clockwise,
Installing: always touch the bulb with tissue paper
or something similar. Push bulb with guide pins
into socket, turn clockwise until engages.
To keep things simple, it should be noted that the directional signal lights (5) will be on the outside corners of the tail light housing and the brake lights (1) will be on the inside. The back-up lights (4) will be in the lower center of the housings while the tail lights (2) and clearance lights (3) will be above the back-up light in a vertical orientation.
