Fuel filter, OEM ?

I'm all for original parts wherever needed, but what about things like the fuel filter for a 1971 280SE (part# 0004776415), can a Mann one do the trick (Amazon.com: P707 Mercedes Fuel Filter 0004776415: Automotive)
or is this also something that should come from a MB dealer?

Mann, Hengst and Knecht/Mahle are the OE manufacturers. Buy it from the dealer and you will get one of those manufacturers.

I had to replace my filter in the wilds of Wyoming once. I couldn't find a filter in the time I had so I bought one found on Fords. It was actually bigger and did the trick with no issue
