1969 280SE battery / windshield washer brackets

Anyone have any idea where to find the bracket that holds the top of the battery in place and the windshield washer jar? Trying to put my car back all original. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Try the MB Classic Center, they have almost anything you might need.

These cars, like the Fintails, used to have a battery with the posts mounted above the top, like on American cars of the day. I believe it was a Group 24 or 27 size. Unfortunately, if the original perimeter-style hold-down bracket doesn't rust away, people think they can fit the German style Group 41, 42 or 49 battery with recessed posts, as used in VWs, Audis and newer Mercedes and BMWs. Then they either notch the original bracket for the cables and weaken it, or lose it - very irritating!

Happy Motoring, Mark

I too had this challenge with my W108. I ended up taking parts for two sources and fabricating a bracket that included the washer bottle hanging tab

Any luck? The one I need also has mounting provisions for the wiper washer jar.
