Transmission adjustment question.

Hi All
I have a question regarding adjusting of my 280se tranny.
I have read on various posts that to overcome a jerky shifting transmission it could be a simple adjustment to the throttle linkage? I would love to see a step by step breakdown on how to do this. Any special tool requirements etc?
Also any adjustments in the vacuum etc?
I really love this car but the sometimes the jerky shifting is a little annoying.
It seems to do it more when I drive gently? On occasion it will shift from 2nd to 4th! When I drive more briskly it seems smoother? The actual tranny has only about 8k miles on it. the previous owner replaced it. I'm sure it just needs a little tweaking. I do understand that these cars are not the smoothest shifting autos but my previous 250s was much smoother.
I don't mind getting my hands dirty in fact it gets me out of the house and out of the Girlfriends hair I'd love to remedy this one way or another.
Cheers John.

Hi All.
Thought I would report back. I ended up turning the small adjustment screw on the modulator on the side of the tranny 3/4turn out. And presto it now shifts a lot smoother
