I used a dryer from a 76 450SEL (116 830 04 83). I had to modify the condenser by cutting off the line that leads to the dryer and re-flaring it....originally that line comes from the bottom of the condenser, up the right side of the condenser, then does a 180 turn into the top of the dryer. Mine now comes up the side of the condenser and straight into the fitting on the side of the dryer.
The original comes out of the dryer and the hose had a 90 toward the right fender. On mine, that hose now attaches to the side of the dryer where the outlet is.
I have a photo of my arrangement on the link I posted above. I made new hoses when I did mine since they were original and I was converting to 134a.
At the end of the day, a dryer is a dryer. They all do the same thing, the rest is just plumbing.
If you need a better photo, let me know and I'll take one.
