W110 230: retightening the head after 300 to 500 miles?

Hi all,

I had the head rebuilt and reinstalled it on the car as per workshop manual guidance. I have now returned the workshop manual that I had borrowed. But I remember mention made of retightening the head after 300 to 500 miles. Torque was 9kg if I remember well. My question is if this re-tightening must be done with engine cold or warm.

does not matter , i prefer warm [ not HOT ] 68 fp . you will be surprised how loose the head bolts get .start at center and work your way to the ends , loosen bolt slightly and re torque .also just tighten the 3 allen screws at front .
