W107 '72 350SL Driver Window Regulator Replacement
The window regulator on my '72 350SL broke today as I was parking and buttoning up. I heard a loud snap followed by a metallic clang in the door shell and the window stopped going up. Long story short, I took the panel off of the door and it seems that the "bracket" that mounts the accordion arm to the geared wheel connected to the motor sheared into two pieces and the arm broke free. There is nothing left to "push" the window up or even hold it up. Because this appears to be a part that is riveted to the regulator assembly, I am 90% sure I will need an entirely new regulator.
Does anyone know of a fix (small chance but maybe someone will know)?
Does anyone know where I can get the part without breaking the bank?
I know that MB made several changes to this assembly throughout the production run and it would seem that all I can find are ones for newer cars W/R107. Are there any cross compatible regulators that will also work?
Thank you very much. I'll take all the advice I can get.
