New soft top adjustment help

1975 sl450 Just install a new soft top having trouble.(when putting up)..when I lock front ...back won"t lock.. if I lock back front won"t lock ....please help if you can thanks

the rear latch catch on , then when you crank the handle , it pulls it in tight . so you secure the front first , and then the back .now , if the top is too short , you may have a issue there .
