Question How often to change brake fluid? 300d 1975

I remember reading somewhere that brake fluid should be changed regularly in these old benzs because it causes rust. Is that so? and how often should it be changed?

Near as I can tell, brake fluid should be regularly changed on every car with hydraulic brakes. Brake fluid is hygroscopic, so it will attract and retain moisture

Service manual says every year in the spring on your car. Newer cars say every two years.

I do the two year option in theory, but in practice I usually end up having something done to the brakes each year so I go ahead and have the fluid refilled then. I don't flush or anything extreme, just drain and refill. Oregon is wet so I like to change it frequently, but I also tend to go above and beyond with inexpensive maintenance items like fluids, why not?
