W114 Coupe Seats in a W115 Sedan

Do the coupe seats fit in a sedan?

I'm picking up a 1970 w114 coupe with the same color interior as my 1971 w114 sedan. My sedan (edit: front) seats are pretty shot.

(I have yet to hear whether the car has a 2.5 or 2.8, but it does have dual carbs, and aside from being stuck in the mud, it runs.)

If the carbs are Webers and you don't plan to keep them let me know.

Yes. The seats are a straight swap

Yes and no. The front seat bottoms and back swap but you must change the rear/upright bracket.

The rear seat parts do not interchange.

I've swapped the front seats before without issue.. only thing I did was machine a piece to stop the seatback from tilting forward, but that is not necessasy.

in 1970 should be a 2.5 litre.
in 1971 if I remember right is where it gets a bit of overlap
with a 2.5 or 2.8 offered still badged as 250c
1972 is a bit of same
1973 went to 2.8 along with a M110 engine and became 280C

The European spec cars 250C/CE are mostly 2.5's..

2.5/2.8 not much difference..the factory carbs suck and both stifle the engine.
Finds Webers and your MPG and ease of driving will both go up...

I almost pulled the trigger on a beautiful 1972 250C yesterday, has rust issues but not very bad, rest of car was beautiful. But just did not seem right to pick up a 250C with a sunroof for a cabriolet conversion...ill keep looking

Fonzi,

Slight thread highjack...is that interior MB Tex? I'm new to this game and need a new rear seat covering in the same color as yours.

Nice coupe by the way.

Not sure. My current sedan (114.011 same engine I think) has a terrible rip in the driver back side bolster. That car could be a parts car. Might be nice to make a convertible from this coupe. Only (a lot of) time will tell.

I have a "line" on this (same m130 engine) car that I inspected in person and the rear end of this one is perfect.

Tim

I think it is MB tex based on the rip in passenger bottom seat.
