What a story (holly Grail w114)

I have spent the last week in Scotland, business related and last night at the airport to kill some time I looked at the magazine section
My eye caught Mercedes enthusiast magazine, cool let me check

I browse I browse and boom w114 blue coup in the middle few pages dedicated to it.
Happy. So I bought it.
Them I checked it again and this car looked familiar to me, what a lee the chances that a magazine will feature a car that I know off.

As I continue to read I realized this is the car I have seen online and I asked about the price which was over 100k but it is blunts and bolts restoration.

Anywho, I was so excited to see my model car in a magazine
Here are few pics

Next time you have some of those blunts that need restored do feel free to call me for some guidance on material disposal.

Post a "wanted to buy" in the for sale section here or even on the MBCA sites & local newsletters. You could possibly find someone who would sell them cheaply or give them away for postage (magazines do not qualify as media mail unfortunately). At the end of each year I always have a stack of Automobile and Motor Trend magazines to find homes for, so they get donated to senior centers or offered to neighbors. I'll probably take the next batch to the nearest VA hospital this time. Most people today no longer keep their magazines, tho I do still hold onto my Mercedes themed zines and Octane which is my current favorite (but also costs $10 per issue in the US).

Buying monthly off the newsstand also helps take the sting out compared to paying for a subscription, especially since foreign titles like this rarely have a discount for US folks, unlike our US-based zines which you can often get for less than 1/4 the cover price. Cigar shops tend to have a good selection of foreign car mags on their newsstands.
