Not getting fuel to engine 1977 450 SLC 4.5 V8

First off- Hi All - this is my FIRST POST! I am brand new and hope I am posting this in the right place. I just purchased a 1977 450 SLC 4.5 V8 that has been in storage for 10 years. I can't seem to get fuel to the fuel distributor! I have drained old fuel (it was a full tank) cleaned the tank screen, replaced the fuel pump. I did blow out the fuel supply line from the engine back to the tank. What I assume is the fuel return line was blocked. It connected to the fuel distributor on driver side closer to windshield. No sure it the line should be open or blocked.

Bottom line - the pump runs and pressures up to the accumulator but it doesn't make it to the engine.

Any ideas?

1) You might want to go over to the R/C107 forum, a very active, highly experienced bunch that loves to help out. R/C107 SL/SLC Class - Mercedes-Benz Forum

2) The fuel distributor has a lot of small orifices and other pieces that could have been plugged with varnish. The general consensus is that trying to DIY rebuild isn't worth it, but there is a company called CIS Flowtech that does them very reasonably.

3) There is a sticky thread over on the 107 forum called the Encyclopedis Germanica v107 that has a huge amount of info that covers a LOT of the basic questions. Read it.

Good luck
