I also like "model/manufacturer neutral." "Universal" also comes to mind, but my favorite is "not $800 and some change but still delivering fuel to the engine".

I am not sure if this is the same pump as used in the R107 D-jet cars. It too has unobtainium fuel pumps. My indy tried the CIS pump with sad results. He found that the pump from a Nissan of the early 1980s is almost the exact same pump. It works within design parameters from DBAG and fits the same. I had a spare OE pump, but the indy used the nissan pump on an SL he was refurbishing.

Regarding the d-jet pump,
I know dgosh28 on the 107 section of this forum bought and installed a Nissan pump with success, but after a short time he decided to part it out.

I think that's a totally different pump that the OP refers to.
