I've been asked to do some restorative work on a (age currently unknown) 220SEB cab. We had it up on the lift yesterday and were assessing the general state of the chassis. I'll be going through the brake system and replacing the springs and shocks, in addition to some other minor tasks. The rear suspension is sagging considerably, so obviously the springs need to be upgraded, but I was also wondering about the center spring above the diff. On the 110 vehicle currently in my shop, there's just a bare single spring up there, but on this 111 it appears to look like some kind of shock with a bellows and fluid seeping out. I'm assuming this item is intended to dampen/reduce axle movement at speed rather than support the vehicle, so it's not the source of the rear sagging, right? What is this part called, and is it still available on the market? Does anyone know a good source for mechanical injectors? Thanks
I'll update this thread with additional pics as I get further into the project.
