Read through the posts. On the clutch issue, most likely the rubber cup in the clutch master cylinder is leaking by, or the one in the slave cylinder. If it is the slave cylinder, you would see fluid leaking out. Normally if there is air in the system, or something leaking by, the pedal will not return to it's full up position. The exception is if somebody added an assist spring to pull it up. The rubber line would not be a bad thing to replace either, along with the brake rubber lines at each wheel.
As for your missing issue and blue smoke, sounds to me as if you have a problem with the piston. Likely low enough compression that it won't fire, or plug fouling, maybe due to a broken piston ring. I assume you have checked for fire at the plug wire. Also, have you checked the valves to make sure they are not tight, leaving a valve slightly open and losing compression?
The blue smoke could also be due to sitting for a while, and may go away after it is driven and the piston rings seat in good again.
Oil smelling like gas is not a good indication of any problem to me. Car could have gotten flooded and gas leaked past the rings into the oil.
P.S. If it has a gas engine, then would now technically be a 200, not a 200D (diesel).
