Where to start? - 1971 250 w114 m130 zenith carbs
I put the carbs on the car, and unfortunately had the same old initial behavior as before (would only run with a little squirt of some fuel). The nice thing was that just pumping the gas would squirt in some fuel. So I didn't need to keep pouring fuel in the barrels to get the car running for a few seconds.
I scratched and scratched my head looking at those carbs with the choke that opened wide pretty quickly, before the car got running really. Then when I manually closed the chokes the car would run. The rear choke opens really fast, and then the car won't run. I disconnected the choke wires and adjusted the chokes so they were nearly closed and got the car idling for the first time ever. It seemed like about 10 minutes or so, and I decided I would try to make the car move under its own power. I put the air filter on and after just a few seconds after putting the air filter on, it stalled. Then it was dinner time.
So it's time to study up on how to adjust the carb and use the Jamie Kop. method. Hopefully these carbs can be adjusted.
My dream car is a classic sporty five speed (stick+overdrive) convertible that seats five. If, you want 70's-80's Mercedes tuner wheels, let me know.
