Best place for w114 and m130 info.
Distributor pics as promised.
Edit: I wonder if there would be some benefit to upgrading to a later distributor that would allow for timing adjustment.
I was able to mess with the timing by removing the bolt and twisting clockwise (advance I believe), but in the end, I had to bolt it in.
Hmm... I wonder if there is supposed to be a adapter plate on the engine... ?? Nah. That would have shown in the EPC.
I drove the car around the block after putting just about a 1/2 quart of ATF (all I had) in the PS reservoir (but that didn't even start to fill reservoir), and the PS is coming back already. It needs a lot more fluid, and obviously to figure out where the leaks are coming from.
Points and plugs have been ordered.
Also noted bondo on the fronts (wheel well side) of each rocker. I guess the rust started a long time ago.
The car does have California (Signal Hill) / Los Angeles area maintenance stickers on the B pillar, but the previous bill of sale was found in the glove box from Montana. I don't know when the car moved from California to Montana, but know it moved from Montana to Maryland late 2010/early 2011, and now just a little farther north, but an area with much less salt air.
My dream car is a classic sporty five speed (stick+overdrive) convertible that seats five. If, you want 70's-80's Mercedes tuner wheels, let me know.
