I believe with patience and a large search effort you could find a genuine survivor, not the ratty kind but in near perfect ORIGINAL condition for far, far under that asking price. Heck, even if I bump my price up to $40k I feel that would open up the worldwide market of near perfect 250c cars to you, tho again, I do not personally feel this is yet the time. I truly think these prices are supposing that since the previous coupes are bringing mad money they want to line those cars up as the next in line for that level of appreciation. The market just doesn't work that way.

I might even buy a 220A Cabriolet, painted to look like Aunt Honorah's mumu

Asking price does not matter. They might as well ask for a cool million dollars for it. The truth is in what it will bring in auction, like Barret Jackson. I have seen them go for around 15 K at the highest for mint original cond.
