Engine swop?

Hi chaps, I know this May annoy the purists but this is for my knowledge only. Not opinions. Is it possible to fit a C class 3.2 v6 engine and box into a w111? I don't want to chop the bodywork as I want it reversible. Size of the bay I thought it would fall in!

....into a W111 coupe? I think it's nice that you want to make it reversible. That alleviates the purist concerns I would otherwise have...

Check my answer to your question here.
A friend of mine did this a few years ago and has a very nice driving car now. He incorporated air ride and a W124 diff into the mix.
