Mercedes 230SL W113: Weber DCOE Conversion?

I've heard about this a while ago, does anyone know who/when this was done?

Has anyone converted to Carb and removed the mechanical injection ?

Thanks

Can't say much about the conversion, but FI should work much better than carbs. What is wrong with it? And with it being a 230sl, the value could be hurt with no original carbs installed.

If it was a different car, I would just convert to megasquirt EFI. you would have modern style FI, better starts, the same or more HP, and better economy. A little more complex than carbs, but not really that bad. The hardest part would be adapting the modern style injectors to the mechanical FI.

I can't believe someone would intentionally bastardize a 113 for the sake of getting rid of the fuel injection and putting on webers....
