Aha. Does this happen with many of those old manuals? Every YouTube video of the w108 manual seems to create this noise until fourth.
Is it something that needs to be looked at or can I just drive it? Is it intensive to fix? Transmission has no trouble shifting at all. I guess it'll be fine, as it doesn't make any uneven sounds, such as grinding or any indication that it's going bad.
EDIT: Couldn't it be the syncromeshes? I was told this transmission only has a syncromesh in first, second and third and they've always been noisy. However fourth does not have one, meaning it makes no sound. Could this have a grain of truth to it?
