1997 S500 Noisy steering pump

After these cold nights my steering pump is making an awfully loud noise, car running, I turned steering wheel a few time from end to end a few times with the reservoir opened, no change.
Would a system flush help? if not, roughly, what would be the cost of rebuilding the pump at an indy?

try the W140 forum, complete your profile with location, and buy a new power steering pump and tank, cause there is a filter in there you cant replace. (have you checked to see if the fluid level is low?)

A frugal fix would be to take the reservoir off and flush it with gasoline, that will clear the filter which is a thin mesh. New fluid and it should be fine.
