Vacuum Advance Issue M129
Hello Vintage Forum,
My 250SE sedan is slowly getting awesome. It runs beautifully now after a valve adjustment, linkage reset, and timing adjustment. However, I am having an issue with the vacuum advance on the distributor (and so I cannot check the advanced timing). The little diaphragm on the distributor won't hold vacuum...I suspect the problem is the interface between this diaphragm and the vacuum tube is leaky. What part is needed to make this interface air tight? Any ideas?
The car performs beautifully at low RPMs, but as expected, the timing doesn't advance at all, and performance is terrible at higher revs.
