Will do. I would expect that I'll be doing some research but until I this Polar Vortex thing subsides we cant get to it to move it. My brother will be picking it up and moving it inside. I probably won't be able to get to it for a detailed assessment until about May. Once I've done the assessment I'll decide on a path forward, hopefully with some advice from this board and the Pagoda forum. I bought it as a parts car but then again until I'm done with the assessment all paths are open. Thanks and I'll keep you all posted once I get back to the car.

Windshields are actually VERY VERY cheap - let me know when you need one, I will point you in the right direction for a brand new one (under 300USD)

Finding things like windshield glass could potentially be very, very expensive, and it's something you must have to make the car operational.

There are a lot of places you could cut corners just to make it a runner, but something like glass can make the difference between a runner and a parts car.

Hopefully you researched this before you purchased?

I learned my lesson years ago with a $400 VW Beetle convertible restoration that ended up to be nearly $11k. The car was nearly perfect when completed, but I would have saved maybe half of that amount if I had just bought the best possible example I could find. With that in mind, these models are commanding stupid high prices nowadays, so you may very well be ahead of the curve - hopefully so.

Good luck with the car!

Well, it depends in what you want to have in your garage.

If you want a running W113 but no concours winner (and nothing close to that), maybe, with 20.000$ you can make it run truly nice and have something reliable and honest to fullfill your Pagode motoring desires.

But if you want a concours winner, a W113 that ticks all the correct boxes, be prepared for a 140.000$ and two-year ground-up restoration. Thats the cost of having a spot on, perfectly restored W113, and starting with a purchase cost of 3000$ is a way better starting point than paying 15.000$ for something rotten and abused that still runs, in por state, but does.

Go on with it, you cant go wrong with a 3000$ purschase of an almost complete car.
