Chance to pick up 230SL Parts Car

Hi, I have a 380SL as a fun driver.

I have a chance to possibly pick up a 230SL barn find and was wondering on what it might be worth. Sorry I can't send pictures but I'm not where the car is right now. I'll describe it as best I can and maybe someone can give me an idea on "worth" as a parts car.

The current owner got the car as part of a bankruptcy settlement when the owner couldn't pay for the repairs done. It has not run for at least 4 years but the current owner said it started and ran fine before he stuck it under the cover. It may have only a Bill of Sale but the current owner says he can get a title from the state based on the court papers so it may have one but it may be a salvage title at that. Just don't know right now. Everything seems to be there. There does not appear to be much if any rust. The top is shot and I'll have to assume the interior is too. I don't think it has the hard top but the bow looks like it is okay. The hood is damaged but that looks like the only damage on it. The bumpers, lights, chrome etc is probably not "show" but looks like they are at least okay. Engine, tranny, drive train, etc are all there.

I know that is not a lot of info and I wish I had pictures. I think I can get it for about $2000 to $2500 so it seems to me there should be some room for a decent parts car there. Depending on what kind of shape its in I may even try to restore but that is not my plan now. Assuming Bill of Sale only or may a Salvage Title and what I've described what would you say the $2500 is a good buy for a parts car? Anybody looking for specific parts that I should see if are on the car, etc. Thanks in advance. If you like you can pm me.

There's no way you can go wrong in that price range. 12-15K seems to be the new floor for parts cars.
