turn signal flasher for 1976 300D

i removed the flasher to check the problem on turn signal and also cleansed the connecting wires..there were 4 wires. a big black wire, a small black wire, a small brown wire and a small blue wire. i check the wires for current but there were none. please help me, which one is the positive and what are the wires for. where should i check for the no current on the wires. thanks and have a good day.

Before you go too far let me suggest plugging the relay pack in tight. Then check that the plug for your turn signal multi switch (a big connector that comes out of the steering column) and the connector for the "hazard" flashers switch are both tight and the fuse is good.

I have had the issue where a loose connector seems like a bad relay.
