Thanks for the details. As the baseplate is screwed into the body, it's already grounded. That top (center) terminal is grounded to the baseplate, so not needed for a separate ground on this car.
The puzzle of course is how are the door switches wired. The wiring diagram doesn't show actual wiring - just circuitry. Diagram shows power comes from Fuse #1 direct to courtesy light switch. Diagram also shows a parallel power line between Fuse #1 and door switch. But nothing shows the actual routes of the wire(s) from terminal block under dash, to door switches, up A pillar and into roof.
And as there are two door switches (left and right front doors), there must be some duplicate wiring in there somewhere. Unfortunately the service manual doesn't show actual routing of door switch wires either - just the main harness itself. It does say "connect the wiring harness sheaf 55 red cable to the cable connector for the roof light." But never says how the roof light itself gets the power from the cable connector - or where the cable connector is.
