57 220S convertible oh my!!

have not seen one of these in a long time. back in the early 70s i used to see them here in the atlanta area for $1200 or so. saw one at a car show sat. it was just stunning. i forgot how classy they are. couldnt get a full car shot as the owner had the hood and trunk open for judging. here is the burled dash.
just stunning!!!

One of these in good condition is truly like taking a walking tour through the Black Forest with all that wood! Interesting that they used both the more traditional style seats as well as less perforated seats (like this one has) that are closer to what you might expect to find in a British car with the piping and flat sections at the cushion end.

Have you seen this video featuring a sweet 1960 220se cabriolet? I could watch it again and again. Mercedes 220SE: Family History on Vimeo

Check out their take on the 300sl too if you'd like to see another cool daily driver!

Got one sitting in my garage - had it to Atlanta a few times for shows. Haven't been there in about five years though. The Mercedes Club there is a good group.
