How to convert from a mechanical Temp gauge to an electrical one.

Now my mechanical temp gauge is not working. I seem to remember last summer when I was at the junk yard there was a 280 that had an electrical temp gauge. Has anyone done this swap?

The first electrical gauge on the W114/115's was on the '74 M110. I don't think there is an open port to install one on the M130. I also don't think the wiring traces or harness will have the needed circuits.

You could probably do it but you'd have to replace the instrument panel, the gauge, the sending unit and run the wiring for the gauge itself. Easier to get another unit.

Yes, either get another unit, or pick up an aftermarket mechanical unit for not much money. mounts on very simply.
