I've been fighting this issue for a long time.
yesterday drove car about 20 miles and parked at car wash to vacuum interior. it did not start right up like when cold, but took a bit of cranking to start. about a mile later felt the familiar bogging/ loss of power.
This summer on long trip, would run well, but after a pit stop same problem. took air cleaner off and manually did throttle, it was very very boggy and after a while got rpm up high it cleared up. other occasions after letting sit a while condition would go away.
carb were rebuilt last year. ignition all looked after (except original coil)
still baffled about heat riser flaps and what is closed postion. yesterday looked and one counter wieght was up and one was down, so i know one is wrong, but which one?
i do have an noticeably exhaust leak I believe from the heat riser shafts in exhaust manifold, you can hear the noise clearly when sitting an idling.
fuel lines and filters good, gas tank filter good.
At this point I think I may take off manifolds and weld plate shut, and then have interior and exterior of exhaust ceramic coated, I hear that will contain heat well.
would appreciate any feedback.
