right side mirror installed--now window won't roll up.

I had a right side mirror installed on my '76 300D today--the window rolled down, but goes off track when trying to go up. The motor is working fine and this is new. What did the new to me mechanic do or is this coincidence?
Thanks so much for any help.

I doubt that it is coincidence. I installed my Rt side mirror about 5 years ago. The forward vertical window track (the one that holds the glass) must be loosened and shifted to install the mirror. The glass will come out of the track during this process. This track was not re-installed properly it was broken during the process. My car is a w114 250C. I am assuming that the sedan doors are assembled the same way.

Is the forward vertical window track a difficult part to find?

It is most likely just loose. I've never heard of a request for one from any source.....ever.
So every late '73-'76 Rt front door in every junkyard in the world should have one. Go back to the person that installed the mirror and tell him to do it right.
