Gear changing linkage

78 230, w123. There is a rod that moves fore and aft when you move the gear change lever. It connects to the trans to change the gear. Mine became disconnected and all I see is the rod and the metal part that the rod should connect to. Sorry I don't know the exact terminology. There must be some sort of Teflon or rubber part that connects the rod to the other part. Can any one help me out with some info about that? I cant find any pictures or part numbers or anything else, though it has to be a replace-able thing. I had to rig it last night with picture hanging wire in order to get home and I don't consider that much of a permanent fix.

The part number is A1159920310. Best to change them both (at the transmission and at the gear change lever). They are not expensive:
