1959 Mercedes Benz 180 W120 Ponton Sedan Wabasto Top Classic Youngtimer Saloon

Hi All I just bought this 1959 190/ 180 they say the vin is 2T87Y9I105501 yet I can not find any where to decode the number . Can any one help me figure out what is vin is saying the car should be. Thanks Robb

Hello Rob I'm suspicious about the VIN you posted for that car. However The 1959 model year was transitional because production ceased for certain 6 cylinder models (219 / 220S cabriolet / 220SE sedan) while the life cycle of the "b" version of the 4 cylinder models (180b / 180Db / 190b / 190Db) and certain 6 cylinder models (220SE cabriolet / coupé) was just beginning.

Your VIN should look something similar to the one in this image

Thanks I called and questioned the vin they are checking and will get back to me.. any idea where to source complets left and right heater boxes with control flaps ect Thanks robb

I hope you didn't buy that thing from Mr. Marshmellow-cereal....
out of San Diego or Montana ??

I would know a near direct source for these (now in) fiberglass heather DUCTS. OR ARE YOU LOOKING FOR THE ACTUAL COPPER HEATER UNITS WHERE THE COOLANT RUNS THROUGH ?

It would be nice if you filled in the info, like where you are etc...
