Thumbs up Lifted safari benz in Los Angeles (pic)

Howdy,

I have just had my 300d lifted 3-4 inches, added a skidplate and gone over the motor in preparation for a little trip to Patagonia.

Here it is: https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/phot...full-exif=true

I am now looking for:

-A limited slip differential. !!!

-15 inch steelies (mine are 14)

-a radiator skid plate (probably just gonna fab this)

-Euro bumpers

-1 inch hubcentric wheel spacers w/bolts

-some info on fabricating a 2 inch hitch receiver.

-a bullbar, maybe.

...if you have any of these things, or know anyone tht might- please get in touch.

P.S. Suspension work done by the amazing independent mercedes master, John in Altadena (jmr000 (at) gmail (dot) com

More photos & videos coming soon! Thanks.

(-;

Thanks guys.

Don't worry, I'll keep her in one piece for at least another 250,000 miles. ;-)

I have some experience with sketchy roads and drivers in Africa.

I've been to chile and argentina and want to go back, by car, but apart from that, I don't like to make rigid travel plans.

John is independent and goes by word of mouth only. I highly recommend him. Shoot him an email if you want more info.

G.M.T.A!

I like your spacequest style video game stats graphics.

Awesome trip! Especially surviving that crash!

Did you ferry to Cuba somehow or leave the car and fly?

How was taking the car through customs? I rode a $500 motorcycle from London to Nigeria a year and a half ago, and I had to do some finagling to get it into some countries without paying a bond. + CS +: What a life! True life is elsewhere. We are not in the world.

I've been driving my 300D in Mexico by the way, and its held up great! had no problems except for when I let my friend drive while I rode a motorcycle and within 10 minutes he had high centered the crap out of it on a rock- pushing the muffler up against the driveshaft. Quick fix with some wood to wedge it outward and since then I've lifted it and won't let others drive it off road.
