Yes I noticed 2 belts to the alternator I am really wondering why I need to replace this belt when there is another one still in operation but I k now the car is not charging the battery
As per above posted instructions in manual , it indicates the power steering pump has a adjuster screw

Tonight I also noticed RR brake line leaking , upon further inspection the metal line is shot where it connects to short rubber line. I guess this is why the car seems to lock up rear wheels when I put it in drive . Seems like something is holding it back? Plus engine oil now leaking under engine. Is this the snowball effect

Your calipers may be seized and need to be replaced. Sounds like you need to check out your full braking system before driving it anymore.

As for the title...you can't be the first to encounter this issue. I'd suggest asking around car collectors forums on how to proceed with that.

Sounds like you are committed. Will be great when you are done. Sorry dont know where to get those parts. Maybe try the wtb section? Any independent MB shops around you? you can ask there and maybe wrecking yards? I suppose you can always make your own brake lines though.

Hi Anthony.
Wy not take your connecting brake hoses off and find out the extent of the problem. I can't believe, that the actual brake lines are leaking unless the car was driven and left outside in the winter and has never been serviced by a regular Mercedes dealer. If the service records or books are missing, you only have a gray market car at this point and it won't be worth very much. Take all your data to a dealer and let him check the history of your Mercedes 250/8 [production series one] and have the car put into your name. Good luck with every thing. Harald.
