Post putting a 240d motor in a 220d has anyone done it?

I have an 82 240d motor im wanting to put in a 69 220d will the intake and exhaust manifold clear? And the throttle linkage work on the fuel injection pump and everything?

Alllso the motor and trans are out of a 75 220d that i had to switchexhaust and intake manifolds to put in my w123 and put a w123 injectikn pump in just to do it but i didnt hold onto the oldd manifolds whichis my main concern

It can be done but it's a pain. The biggest hurdle is the fact the later 240D has the oil filter mounted up top. A couple of ways around it but they are a trial.

The exhaust can be a problem. Shut down systems are different, glow plug system is different, gauges, etc.

Find an earlier model of 240D. Early '76 and older.

I work at a shop where we only work on classic euro cars mainly diesel benz i should be able to find most parts i need but the oil filter shouldnt be a problem consodering the motors actually a 75 had he larger glow plugs and suchtoo i just have valve cover and manifolds from a newer 240 and the intake mani is in the 220d im picking up sp really i need the exhaust mani only im just tryin to make it a fasssst swap because its my dailys so im trying o get it done in about a week so im just tryin to findout all the hurdles i have to jump before i start thanks. And if you or anyone who ever sees this needs any old benz parts especially w123 stuff or older message me we have tons of stuff at the shop. thanks
