1973 280 SEL 4.5 L, V8

Can anyone decipher the information on a dataplate of the above Mercedes? The info on the dataplate is as follows:

593
466 491 513 531 589

467 H --- -
108068 12. 7
5B M11960. 91708

From what I can figure the engine is a M119? Which was produced from 1989-1999? Is that correct?

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

467H is the exterior color - Sand Beige Metallic. The dashes after the paint code indicate that the vehicle did not have a two tone paint scheme from the factory. If it did then the paint code for the second color would replace the dashes.

If this is a W108 with the 4.5 V8 then the engine code is M117.

read again the engine num , you have one missing M11? 960

a 280sel 4.5 is a 108.068 engine 117984 a 300 sel4.5 is a 109.057 engine 117.981 [ air suspension ]

a 108.068 is a 280 sel 4.5 , engine is a 117.984

a 109 .057 is a 300sel 4.5 engine is a 117.981 this is from the MB usa model designation booklet

I was looking for the differences between just the two 4.5 motors that both had the M117 designation... 984 vs. 981 .... (I understand the two different cars W108 vs W109)
