1971 280SE needs new seat belts

Hi all,
I need to replace the front seat belts, which are very worn, and wanted to get some 3 point retractable ones for comfort+safety.

Can I assume any basic model works ? Is this something generic that I can get on Amazon and not have to worry that it will not fit ?

Thanks for any help and, yes, I'm not a big tinkerer (but I absolutely love this car).

Benny.

There's a thread that I started a few weeks back on the same thing - you might try a search for it. I ended up going with the suggestion someone made and am really happy with what I bought. Installation took about 10 mins per side, and I was able to buy the things off of Amazon.

3 Point Retractable Lap & Shoulder Seatbelts : Replacement Seatbelts, Seat Belts, Retractable Seat Belts, and Seatbelt Extenders @ SeatBeltsPlus.co

I bought receivers with an 18 inch length cable. I've had no complaints whatsoever.

I'm glad you're happy with the belts that I suggested. Really good belts aren't they?

Yes. The receivers I bought were a little longer than the seat height, but I prefer this over what I had previously. When I bought my 108 in 2005, it had the original kangol belts, which I promptly replaced. I think I bought a crappy set because I could never get them to extend without locking up over and over and over. I had just lived with it for years until I found the ones you had suggested. Since then, no issues, on either side. They even look like something Mercedes would have installed.
