71 W108 4.5 distributor HELP!

I was putting a new set of points in my distributor and when I removed the cap I saw the capacitor but is didn't have a lead. My question is if it had a lead were dose it go??? FYI the distributor pic is right after I put the new points in. Also my Vacuum advance diaphragm is bad were can I find one??

You ever thought about replacing it all with a hall effect setup? Such as Pertronix, FlameThrower, or Crane? Your car will run a heck of a lot better, and you'll get rid of the capacitor...

i believe the capacitor is required for the correct CB points operation.without it the points will arc and burnout ,best as advised above , install a pertronix ignition and throw the points/ condenser out.better performance and starting !
