W108 250se Needs Help

I'm looking for a new fuel pump. Quoted at $800. Am I getting ripped?

Prices vary considerably. I recently purchased a Bosch unit for below $600, its installed and running as it should. Shop around would be my suggestion

I think you need to clarify if it is a fuel pump (located near the tank) or the injection pump. If the first, i would say yes. Hop online and do some searching.

An option you have is a pump from Summit Racing or other sources. A pump is a pump is a pump, as long as you match the volume and pressure. $800 is about standard for our pumps, but they're MUCH less with aftermarket ones.

Basically the engine won't start. I was thinking with a new fuel pump that I could get the car to start. I know that the last time the car started, which was 3 years ago, the engine could start but couldn't go forward or backward so transmission is an issue too.
