I am new to the forum and new to owning a Mercedes as well. I am rehabing a 1964 220s sedan with plans on making it a daily driver, however, I am having a hard time simply finding even the names of certain parts/trim. I have picked up bits of valuable information here before so I thought I would stop lurking and jump on in!
So here goes nothing!
I have tons to do, so I am sure I will be on here with more questions... Currently, I am working on getting the windshields sealed. The glass is good, however, the inner and outer rubber going around each windshield is rotted thru. I easily found the inner seals online (fingers crossed), but I have had zero luck finding the outer parts.
On the front, this piece looks like a strip of chrome with black rubber on both sides. Some of the rubber has literally disintegrated! The chrome is fine, but it seems that this is all one piece.
On the back, this piece seems to be all black rubber laying over a chrome strip. I am assuming these are "outer" seals/weatherstripping, however, I cannot find these parts anywhere.
I hope my description is good enough, if not I can load pics later...
So far I have been searching online and have had the most success with autohaus.com and rockauto.com. These sites are limited though, so any other leads would also be helpful.
Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
P.S. I would post a few pics of the car but I am waiting to get it up and running before I do so. After sitting on the side of the house for too long she looks sad/not very photogenic at the moment.
