Gasoline motor, V8, Twin Carbs, All original trim is there along with hubcaps, a true California car. Has original black plates. Asking $18K obo. I know this car is very rare.

Talk about California dreamin'!!! That might be a $2500 car as it sits, maybe a few bucks more with the AC system. It's a straight six cylinder 220S. It's not that rare of a car, coupe or cabriolet maybe, but not the sedan.

Definitely something not right with that. Zero chance that's a V8, zero chance that car is worth anywhere near that money. I've seen runners for $4-6k in way better shape. This is not a worthy restoration, for you I mean, it's best left for someone who will spend $50k and end up with a $30k car. That one doesn't even have the Webasto. If it was a type then $1,800 is a more fair price for that car.

BTW, you are absolutely doing the right thing by coming here and asking for opinions. Most people are too stubborn or have too much false pride to ask for help but you're one of the smart ones and it will likely save you a huge amount of money, a massive headache, or both. Have you posted a want ad on the forums or the Ponton site? I feel like somebody will come forward to help you find the right car if they know you're looking. If you're MBCA put an ad in the local newsletter or The Star. Go to some shows and gatherings and ask around, somebody always knows someone with an old Benz for sale and eventually it will be one you want.

Keep up the search, I'm excited to see what you find!

Could have bought this one a few years ago for $2500. Was being used as a wedding car/limo, clean, running condition and recovered leather seats.
