I want a Mercedes logo for my vintage key.

So I'm looking at getting a key made that has a nice Mercedes Benz Logo
attached to the head of the key. Does anyone know of anywhere that I can
buy something like that for my 1972 250.

Also, I was thinking of maybe buying a couple of mercedes logos from some sort
of product and then after some modification, glue them around the head of the
key. Any suggestions??

Try doing a google search on custom key blanks. The skull seems to be popular for example.

In the 80's you could buy these sterling silver caps with various logos that fit over key heads. You may be able to find one on eBay or a flea market in the jewelry or automotive sections. The late 1990's/2000's cars all have a plastic IR fob with a very nice Star embedded that could probably be carefully removed (it appears very fragile tho) so you could maybe even just cut it out with the plastic backing and make a surround using two of these? Note that the main key has a chrome star on one side so you would need two cases, the backup key is usually just molded plastic into the fob body. You can buy empty cases on eBay.
