W108 heater repair

Many thanks to all that posted the information on this site. I have just completed the replacement of my heater fan, and controls. While I was at it I also removed all the wood and refinished it. I could have never accomplished this without all the input I found searching this site. Too all many thanks, and to all that has also completed the same task God Bless you. If I knew what was involved before I started I may never attempted it. What a feeling of accomplishment now itís done.

Thanks again and keep up the great web site.

Congrats on completing that job. It is a lot of work but very satisfying when completed. Any Pictures?

Now the AC is next, I still have the original compressor and hoses. I'm open to any ideas. I would like to switch to a sanden compressor and r134. But not too sure how to size the compressor.

Replacement hoses shouldn't be too tough to find, if you have them custom made. Any reputable AC shop can make them for you (I had one replaced in Monterey CA - they used the old fittings and pressed on new hoses). Another option is to just order one from the Stealership.

AC Conversion

I converted my '67 W108 to R134a last summer using an aftermarket compressor and parallel condenser. Took photos and put them on this site. It was not too difficult if you have the tools and space to customize a few brackets. Do a search for it.
