Window glass/regulator connection, adjustment.

Hi all, just fixed and reinstalled the window regulator/motor in the drivers door of my 72, 280SE. For some reason I can't seem to get the relationship between the regulator arm and the window correct. It seems like the arm is to long but I didn't change anything that I know of. Is there a trick to installing these things???

Make sure you reinsatlled the regulator as it should... maybe you skip the position?

Of course I assume you tried to move the window manually to adjust to the arm ...

I had soem problems with mine, but it was becasue the window rail was bent.

this is ho it should look.

All fixed, I had bolted the bottom part the arm attaches to on backwards. This is why I normaly take pictures as I take things apart. Windows are all working great now. Rear two just needed lubricating. The regulator was easy to fix because I have access to a hydrolic press, would have cost $400.00 for a new one!!! Thanks to one & all.

It seems this is too good to be true, but I went ahead and purchased one.... Hoping its not that bad.... It can be worst than a used one!

Good luck. The two used parts guys I get stuff from all said that bent ones "Cant be fixed"! Well I wasn't going to pay $400.00 clams for one so I tried to straiten mine keeping in mind the gear teeth from the motor must mesh well with the teeth on the regulator. It took some work but it now works perfectly. I think the key is to keep them lubes so they don't get stressed enough to bend in the first place!! I'm tented to offer to repair them for 1/2 the cost of a new one!!!
