Insurance recommendations for a 90 SEC?

I'm picking up the car next week.

Geico tells me that they will only write a policy for actual cash value. That is a pathetically low number - ~$2600. The car isn't old enough for "classic" or antique status yet.

I'd like to see if there's a better way to get a decent policy on an immaculate 1990 560 SEC. I want comprehensive and collision along with liability.

Open to suggestions, ridicule, scorn, what have you.

Thanks!

a nice clean 560 sec could go up to about 12k , a average car about 5 k , a clunk 1,5 k or less .

"Agreed Value" is available...

Will this be a daily or regular driver?

If not, American Collectors Ins will cover at an agreed value for any vehicle over 15 years old.

It it will be, find an independent agent - agreed value is available. I have an agreed value pol on my '01 CL55 with Chubb.

Regards,
Kevin

Well, I'd like to drive it, but not as a sole vehicle. I already have a pickup which will be used in inclement weather and running around town. I'd like to keep the Benz as a special car, because it is. Its only got 106K, is in fantastic shape and simply gorgeous. So, I'd like to toss the miles on a beater when going to/from work.

I will look at other options for sure. Thanks.
