Hi,
I plan to freshen up the paint on a 1971 W114.
Can someone advise what paint finish was used that year on that model so i can purchase the appropriate products.
as per the vin number it has:
exterior color code: 670 - light ivory
Thank you.

The paint of the era, lacquer, is no longer available for spraying automotive paints (due to air quality standards in the U.S.). You will have to use water-based paints that match the color sample you bring to them

The paint should be single stage. If it hasn't been worn too thin, a solid polishing should repair many defects.

Should I use any specific products?
On my current car (2009) i use clay, then polish, then wax.
I don't know if I should use the same product on this finish. I'm scared.
Thank you.

No problem. Feel free to post pics of the results, as I have yet to do my own car.
