Just an update: Thank you guys for the responses- I tested the fuel pump, and it would run when an outside power source was applied, so I replaced the relay (difficult to locate, but eventually found it in the front right side of the engine compartment) and the fuel pump started running again! It was great to hear the old girl turn over, but she wouldn't stay running. The (original) fuel pump would run constantly if allowed, and couldn't pressurize the hoses- after a few tries, the pump stopped running, and wouldn't even do so with an external power source.
I ordered a new aftermarket fuel pump and filter and a friend and I are going to install them today- is there any need to prime the new pump, or should it automatically bleed the air from the lines?
